- Video 1
Schematic video of normal lung ultrasonographic pattern. In an aerated lung, the only structure that can be identified is the pleura, appearing on the image as a hyperechoic horizontal line that moves synchronously with respiration. This rhythmic movement is called lung sliding and provides a visual estimation of the pulmonary excursions during ventilation. From the pleural line, hyperechoic horizontal artifact lines are generated at regular intervals, called “A” lines.
- Video 2
Schematic video of interstitial pulmonary edema ultrasonographic pattern. In the case of interstitial pulmonary edema, the acoustic mismatch between air and the surrounding tissues changes, and some hyperechoic vertical reverberation artifacts moving synchronously with lung sliding are generated, called “B” lines.
